First contact

It was my second contact with children, but in this time i had the opportunity to have the first real class with my partner Luiz. The topic for this class was “Welcome to the classroom” and Vocabulary: bag, book, pen, pencil, ruler and eraser.  Our planning was based in activities that could get students attention. OUR PLANING: We decided that our planning needed to include some games in groups because we had children that are 6-to-9 years old. Therefore, we needed to mix them. ( Our planning ) THE DAY OF THE CLASS: First, We set the classroom with balloons, crepe paper colors and images (as we were developing vocabulary). Second, after we had decorated, we started the class. To start we had as a role play in which luiz had a ball in his hands, then he threw it to me to ask me the question “What is your name?” After this I threw the ball to someone else asking the same question and saying “My name is glory, what is your name”? First contact

Well, it was the first time that our class had the opportunity to have “real classes”. In the first contact, some of my classmates tried some activities, in order to measure their English level and motivate them to return for the next week. Some of the activities were “salven a pity,” “reading a fairy tale,” “How I feel” “hot potato” and so on. At the end of this class, we learned that teachers should not underestimate the knowledge of their students. It is very nice to do a pre-class because you can get an idea of what is your student level, in order to help them to improve. Most of the time, teachers teach without know what is the real student knowledge so their fell boring about English classes.

ADHD

ADHD Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder/disorder First to clarify the concept, this is not a disease but a way of behaving.  It is referred to difficulty staying focused and paying attention and difficulty controlling behavior that can cause problems at home, school, work, or in relationships. It is very common in childhood and can continue through adolescence and adulthood.  CAUSES… . -Genes -environment factors -brain injuries -food activities, so on. Signs & Symptoms There are some cases in which teachers categorize a child with a attention disorder which is not correct, because a teacher cannot assume a psychological role. Only neurologists and psychologists can diagnose attention disorder, I am not saying that teacher cannot say that something is wrong with a child. But teacher can get a idea of how many symptoms the child has, in order to help child by talking with his/her parents to have a special attention. ...

behavioral and cognitive differences

The main behavioral and cognitive differences between boys and girls In this time I am going to define some cognitive differences between boys and girls, but we have not to forget that hobbies, interests or preferences are not linked to roles placed by a country or age. As everybody knows, there are some role in the society that is assumed by different genders just as boys and girl. Gender: characteristics of people as males and females. Gender Roles : expectations that prescribe how females or males should think, act and feel (how they “should be or their behavior should be in the society”). First, I want to clarify that when a newborn demonstrate with gestures that he/she likes is not related with the gender because at that time they demonstrate their different preferences according to their environment or they have been exposed during the mother's pregnancy. BOYS GIRLS  - Most of the time, boys look...
