MY FREE COURSE UDB

It was my first time in which i had the opportunity to have a class with adolecens. Since I started the career I had my eyes in teaching teens. This Monday 24, we started with the group of 9 but we were waiting for 15 or 20. Even this, we had our first class.

The teacher for the diagnostic class was Raul.

To begin with the class, He did a warm up in which students had the opportunity to break the ice. The game was “hot chair” in which students had to move the decks in a horizontal position and they would change decks as many times they could and one that stayed at the chair had to guess a word that was on the board.
Then, he started to use the phrase “My name is.” Then, asked to practice in pairs. It was very nice because most of them had knowledge of “my name is”. After this, he did some listening and repeats. Also he did some activities in which they had the opportunity to match the word with color, meaning, and draw. It was very interesting cause they were sharing ideas.

I noticed that they need to learn basic commands in a classroom. For example with the word “match” they were not familiar. Raul had to repeat and one that other time explained in Spanish the instructions. While Raul was doing a listening activity, one student entered to the class and set down waiting for instruction. Raul kept doing the activity and gave directions but the student was not doing the activities. His name is Roberto. After some activities, Raul was asking for his participation and he  was not answering and was and took some minutes to answer but it was in a shy way.

I realized that they need to make a interactive course cause first they need to have a real review of basic instructions. By the order hand, I had a personal experience with one girl in which I asked her to move from one desk to another cause she was out of the circle. When I said that I was asking to her, her face change and demonstrate that she disagree with my order. Then, I asked in a serious way in order to say that I was the teacher. She moved but was demonstrating that she was mad with it.

I just suggest and I have to do so. The use of the board cause as raul, we can assume that they know the answer or even the structure. They some of they do not. But Raul did at the end and was very nice raul.

ACTIONS

ACTIONS Vocabulary:  Run, climb, eat, fly…so on Grammar:   It was the third class of the last period. I was impressed because until now I realized that we had changed, I mean we are not the same students that started the semester. We are focusing in being good teachers and how to keep the attention of our students in us. The class started with Raul which got my attention because he demonstrated that he is a good teacher. He started with a warm up in which he sang the “Hello” song· He asked SS to do different movements according what he was doing. For example, when he said “happy” they had to jump in order to demonstrate how happy they were. I loved the way that he did it because he did it many times in order to internalize the new hello version song.  Also he did clear instructions. After the warm up. Raul asked them to pick up their own names and show the picture that was inside. For example, Imelda`s name has a grandmother. Everybody participa...
