FRIDAY´S CLASS

FRIDAY´S CLASS
Topic: My bedroom
This was my second class. In this class I had the opportunity to evaluate them (oral presentation). Before I started I had done many activities which I chose because they had not created the conversation to the oral quiz.
The first activity was a warm up in which they would have a song and pass the hot potatoes. Then, I asked different questions such as “What is your name”, “how old are you?” and so on.
The second activity was to encounter the bedroom vocabulary, I had created a bedroom representation (I did a window, TV and so on) I had to admit that  they liked my bedroom, it was very nice cause they got the idea and did a very well practice.
Then, I encounter the IN,ON and UNDER vocabulary, always using the bedroom but at this time I had a drawing of a cat in which his name was Filomeno II. I used to ask where the cat was and they answered yes or not.
One of the activities was very hard to do it cause I was giving the instructions but I was speaking fast. They just had to do a drawing of their room but the instructions were not clear. I was very nervous and thinking about the evaluation. After I had given the instructions h realized that I had not given clear instructions. Then, for a second time I gave instructions and they followed it.
To be honest when I am teaching I don’t feel the time. The last part of the planning was to do a review of the things that they would need for the assessment. I asked the students the questions and they were saying the questions for example, “Where are you from” “what is your second name”. Everybody participated and I felt very happy cause they know the questions.
Practice, Ss had the opportunity to create a conversation using the questions they did a very good job, after that I gave directions in which ss would read the conversation. After this I say what they had to keep in mind in special pronunciation.

The last part, students did the assessments. I was afraid cause I had to evaluate them, I asked to do a circle and they would pass the ball at the end who had the ball the ss and his/her partner. I realized that they were not afraid as me.  Next time I will be more relaxed.

ACTIONS

ACTIONS Vocabulary:  Run, climb, eat, fly…so on Grammar:   It was the third class of the last period. I was impressed because until now I realized that we had changed, I mean we are not the same students that started the semester. We are focusing in being good teachers and how to keep the attention of our students in us. The class started with Raul which got my attention because he demonstrated that he is a good teacher. He started with a warm up in which he sang the “Hello” song· He asked SS to do different movements according what he was doing. For example, when he said “happy” they had to jump in order to demonstrate how happy they were. I loved the way that he did it because he did it many times in order to internalize the new hello version song.  Also he did clear instructions. After the warm up. Raul asked them to pick up their own names and show the picture that was inside. For example, Imelda`s name has a grandmother. Everybody participa...
